So I decided to take a leap, and put my little shop onto a huge blog that I have been following for what seems like forever.  I just checked the blog today and it is up, on there and out for all to see!  It makes me so excited to see my little ad among other people that I look up to!

Felt Flowers

For whatever reason, I am really into creating tutorials lately!  :-)

I came across these flowers when going through my instagram feed--I had to figure out how to make them--and when I realized how ridiculously easy they are to make, I just had to pass it on.

I am planning on making about a dozen flowers to attach to a wreath--just haven't had time since this past weekend (the sickness bug has hit our house-hard!).  Hoping all of your homes are happy and healthy...this winter is not fun in our household.

Anyhoo, back to the tutorial.  Again, it is super easy.  Step one is finding all the materials.  I actually had all of them in my house, but I am addicted to crafting, so some of you might have to take a trip to the closest craft store before starting.  (I lie, I don't have all the materials--still need the wreath--weekend trip to JoAnn's!)

The basic supplies are seen above:  Scissors, felt  and the all mighty hot glue gun.

Once you have the basics you need to cut your felt into 2 inch or 1 inch wide strips*.  I just used the width of the felt for my length, so my strips of felt ended up being roughly 2 inches X 12 inches.

I find this the easiest way to cut my strips of felt--but if you don't have these tools, scissors should be fine also :-)

To start creating your flowers, fold the piece of felt in half and add hot glue to the outside edge.    If you are looking at the picture below for help--put the glue on the side opposite my thumb (once you are working you will realize there really isn't any other way)

After the felt is completely glued in half begin to cut small slits on the side that does not have glue.  (the folded side).  I tried a variety of widths cut, there doesn't seem to be a right or wrong, just however you prefer it to look.

Then begin to roll (you can see the beauties in the background of this picture--love them!). As you are rolling apply hot glue to the edge so the roll sticks to itself--just be careful--hot glue hurts!

Keep rolling until you reach then end and VOILA!
Beautiful felt flowers--simply, right?!  Go try, and you will be a believer :-)

LOVE--they are so pretty..
*The variety of sizes are from the 1 inch width and 2 inch width strips.  Try out different sizes and see what you like the best.  I was thinking of even adding maybe a covered button in the middle of some of them, but maybe that is over ambitious :-)  Can't wait to add these beauties to a wreath---my door needs so pretties!

If you use the tutorial, link up your results in the comments---would love to see everyone creating!

Valentine Kids Craft

I always feel an unnecessary pressure to create cool Valentine's Day cards for my kids school.  I found this idea on Pinterest, and loved that it involved ZERO candy, and wasn't too difficult to make.  I also love that it included my daughters handwritten names, because I am currently obsessed with her handwriting.  We started the project now, since she needs to take constant breaks in between names so they aren't super sloppy and because "her hand hurts." (drama).

"finished" (almost) product!

created hearts for the girls and arrows for the boys--cut as best I could and then added vertical slits for the "bracelet"

Strung the "bracelet" through the vertical slits and sewed on a cute button.  On the side opposite of the button I cut horizontal slits to create the button holes.

After the initial bracelet was created I figured out what size to make the cardstock paper for my little one to write on.  I cut them to the appropriate size and patiently had my daughter write her friends names and her own (with a 3.5 year old this was the hardest step and took a lot of patience on my part)

Happy creating!!

iloveu Valentine cards

Newest addition to my etsy shop---iloveu Valentine cards---

I absolutely LOVE the way they turned out (no pun intended).  The image is a re-print of an original drawing I created.  I'm hoping to make more cards in the future--it was so fun to draw, and I couldn't be happier with the finished results.  Order 2 or more cards and get FREE shipping!!

New Listings

New items are currently listed in the etsy shop.

Thanks to everyone who has been supporting draw daisies!

I am loving the drawing directly onto the matte board--perfect to put a picture of your favorite drawing, family or friends.  The matte measures 8X10 and fits a 5X7 picture.

New drawing directly onto 8X10 matte
I have Valentine's Day on the brain, so a lot of my roses are in pinks and reds, I am even experimenting with combining colors.  I have a goal that before the end of the month to start listing necklaces and bracelets--I am still perfecting the look and figuring out the best way to attach to the jewelry.  I still think my rings need some work, but I guess it is all a work in progress :-)

Valentine's Day cards/prints

Now that Christmas has passed I am already looking ahead to Valentine's day. I started creating some drawings to customize (the cassette tape), print into cards for your loved ones or just buy as a print to hang. I am sure I will be creating more soon, but here is a peek at some items that will soon be up in the etsy shop.
